What an amazing adventure already –
I flew out of New York on Friday the 29th and flew into Tees Valley at 10:10 am on Saturday the 30th. When I went through customs, I waited and waited for my luggage to come around the belt and it never came. It seems that KLM lost my luggage…not today Satan!! God has given me unusual peace through this whole process so this was not going to get me down.
I was picked up by Tim w/ Youth For Christ and was taken to my host home. I’m staying w/ this amazing couple, Mike and Mary. They have just been wonderful and really welcomed me in. Mary took me to a store to get some clothes and toiletries since my luggage was missing. We ended the night with a spot of tea and since I had been up for 40 hours it was off to bed for me!
New Years Eve morning, right before I was getting in the shower, my luggage arrived:) I got to experience my host homes church, St. Mary’s. They were all so sweet and welcoming. After church we got to spend the rest of the day with two girls from YFC and one of the girls host home. I had such a great time eating lunch, getting to know each other and drinking tea. I loved bringing in the New Year with my new family in a new location!
Then on New Years Day we climbed to the top of Roseberry Topping. What an amazing view of Gods Glory!! I had a wonderful time experiencing this w/ my host home and a few locals.
So thankful for this opportunity and how God has blessed me to be part of the Youth for Christ team! Now I’m in Manchester at the Youth for Christ conference till Friday.
More to come…Tee
